Emily began dancing at the age of 3 and trained as a child at the Hirschl School of Dance Arts. She began teaching there at the age of 13, and was also given the opportunity to choreograph for the annual performances. In high school Emily turned her focus to ballet and began training at Long Beach Ballet Arts Center under David Wilcox, Shani Englert, DaVinci Burke, and Victor Kasatsky. She also participated in many summer intensive programs including LA Classical Ballet and American Reparatory Ballet in Princeton, New Jersey with guest instructors such as Gelsey Kirkland, Patricia Barker, Russell & Maricar Capps, and Edward Villella. She has been a company member of Long Beach Ballet Theater and is currently a company member in His Grace Dance Ministries. Emily’s passion is dancing to glorify God, and she loves teaching our youth that dance was created by God for God.
Mindy Ramirez has been dancing over 21 years. She began her training with Lois Ellyn of the New York City Ballet, and went on to graduate from the OCHSA Classical Contemporary Dance Department under the direction of Sophie Monat. She attended summer intensives at San Francisco Ballet, Ballet Pacifica and Ballet Austin and has trained under Luis Fuente, Janek Schergen, David Wilcox, and Michelle Martin. She has performed in The Glory of Christmas at The Crystal Cathedral and danced with the Los Angeles Classical Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and Nouveau Chamber Ballet. In recent years, Mindy has discovered a passion to not only be on the stage, but behind the scenes teaching, directing and choreographing. The Cornerstone has offered her the opportunity to dance and choreograph for many events in their Dance Company; and she has found that her joy is made complete in using her passion for dance as an offering of worship to her Savior.
Brianna Hallerbach has been dancing for fourteen years. She studied under Tracy Dee Baker who danced with Los Angeles Ballet Company, John Clifford, and also Krista Baker who is currently dancing with Nevada Ballet Theater. Although she has experienced many different types of dance such as modern, African, jazz, and lyrical; ballet is her strength. Brianna joined CAPA as a student and Instructors Apprentice in 2012. She chose CAPA because she wanted to use her dancing to grow deeper in the Lord and her heart was set on raising a generation of worshipers. In her own words she describes CAPA. “It’s a warm and inviting setting with teachers that are not only teachers but prayer warriors, encouragers and friends, helping dancers learn how to use their gifts for Jesus.” Brianna loves teaching and watching the students improve in their faith and dance skills. She is currently completing her degree at California State University Fullerton.
Sara Thresher began her dance training at the age of 4 and has been dancing for over 21 years. She trained as a child in London’s Royal Academy of Dance Technique and received a scholarship for her efforts training under John Hart. She moved to Orange County in 2004 to continue her training at California State University Fullerton and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. Sara’s dance “Kairos” was selected to perform in the Gala for American College Dance Festival. Her specialty is modern and contemporary dance, but she has a passion for all forms of dance. Her greatest desire is to develop the Christian dance community by advancing the technique, artistry and choreographic ability of those who seek to use their gifts to glorify God alone. Her dream is to have a Christian company that impacts the entire dance community for the Lord.
